the reactable is a tangible music instrument. There is a trend for design of new musical interfaces, such as tangible music instruments and musical applications for mobile devices, also for multi touch surfaces. I guess it ultimately derives from the attempt to close the gap between human and computer interaction, finding ways to interact in more intuitive ways.

i took this picture of a switch next to the switch-sticker because this shows me how far technology goes at the moment. everything can be an interface/button, even a sticker. i saw a power socket sticker on a traffic-fire and it reminded me of my switch at home_gaf

French product designer Mathieu Lehanneur assembles a collection of still lifes from his Paris studio. Sea cucumber skeletons, synthetic forests, a coral brain, ferromagnetic fluids and a helium balloon funeral are just some of his daily moments of inspiration.

“Adhoc” Pop-Up design office is a contemporary concept that transforms the traditional rules and methods of a design office into a dynamic way to generate design, at the right moment, and with the right people. This innovative, experimental project that will launch in Postdam/ Berlin from April to July 2007, was conceived by designer garth roberts. “Adhoc” is sponsored by Modulor_material total, Moleskine and DuPont Corian.

Pop-Up design office that leverages its location and creativity to produce a unique product experience, instead of time and exclusivity. It maximizes the advantages of being a ‘temporary cultural implant’ by identifying the creative energy unique to a given city and uses that energy to aid in the design process. In contrast with the retail pop-up event that is the end of the product cycle and a one-off experience, the Adhoc design studio is the beginning and defining element in the product cycle. It is established to be a bespoke method of creativity and design management.
